This value and respect, when accompanied by self-confidence, is called healthy self-esteem. Healthy self-esteem is to be distinguished from “pseudo-self-esteem” where people develop pride and confidence in their possessions, social position, or their ability to win or be victorious.  Learn more about how to improve self-esteem.
